Our sensing platform utilizes the bleeding edge of synthetic receptor technology known as Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs). These synthetic receptors, in combination with a patent pending innovation, facilitate the rapid, reliable and cost-effective detection of disease biomarkers, chemical contaminants, and molecules of interest.

So what are Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs)?

A lot like regular polymers, MIPs are made up of a large amount of small molecular units chemically bonded together forming a complex network. Their difference stems from the incorporation of a template species (small molecules, proteins, nanoparticles, bacteria, etc.) during their synthesis that can later be removed, leaving behind a polymer imprinted with the same likeness as the template removed. Due to this process the resulting MIP has the capability of selectivity binding to the templated species, much in the same way that biological receptors such as antibodies and enzymes function. This therefore makes MIPs a highly appealing technology in the sensing field, offering an innovative alternative to more traditional affinity reagents.
